We’re Jackson and Ricky, the proud owners of Cahoots Coffee Co., a Vermont-based roastery rooted in community, quality, and purpose. Originally established as SawDog Coffee Roasters in 2015, the roastery began a new chapter when we took the helm and reintroduced ourselves as Cahoots in March 2024.
Jackson’s hands-on connection with the business began back in 2020–first behind the wheel as a delivery driver, then behind the roaster. Today, we’re proud to carry forward the foundation that brought us here while building something distinctly our own.
Cahoots was born from the legacy of SawDog, a small-batch coffee roastery founded by Tom and Mary, whose passion for ethically sourced beans and neighborly connection shaped every cup. Jackson began working with Tom and Mary back in 2020, first as a delivery driver, then as an apprentice roaster. When they shared their desire to step away from the business, we knew we had to carry their vision forward.
With their mentorship (and plenty of coffee), we stepped in to lead the company—honoring its roots while reimagining its future. And yes, Tom and Mary are still subscribers to this day, cheering us on from the other side of the mug.

Our name reflects the spirit of collaboration and care that defines everything we do. Our community matters and quality is everything. Every pound of Cahoots Coffee is ethically sourced, roasted to order, and packed with purpose—supporting women growers through our ongoing partnership with Café Femenino.
We’re passionate about single-origin coffees and the stories they tell. As we grow, we’re excited to explore new blends, deepen our variety, and continue crafting brews that spark connection.
