THE STORY BEHIND CAFé FEMENINO
Café Femenino isn’t just coffee—it’s a global movement of empowerment. Founded in 2004 by women coffee farmers in Peru, this groundbreaking program was created to ensure women receive the recognition, compensation, and support they deserve for their vital contributions to coffee farming. Since then, it has grown to include women-led cooperatives in nine countries, bringing exceptional coffee and social change to communities around the world.

Angelica’s family has been a part of the Cecanor cooperative for more than 20 years, and her Café Femenino women’s group was one of the first founding groups in Peru.
Her kitchen has received a stove upgrade to a standing format with smoke exiting from a chimney. All this from her participation in the program and donations from Café Femenino Roasters through Café Femenino Foundation.
