Who we are

We are Cahoots Coffee Co. (Kings Coffee LLC), a Vermont-based roastery rooted in community and driven by purpose. A spirit of collaboration and care defines everything we do because our community matters and quality is everything. By ethically sourcing our coffee through our ongoing partnership with Café Femenino, we support women growers, fuel sustainability, and bring people together over a seriously good, roasted-to-order, brew.

How we use your Personal Information

• Providing Products & Services. We use your personal information to provide you with the Services, including processing your payments; fulfilling your orders; sending you notifications related to your account, purchases, returns, exchanges, or other transactions, creating, maintaining and otherwise managing your account; arranging for shipping, facilitating any returns and exchanges; and carrying out any other functionalities related to your account.

• Communicating with You & Service Improvement. We use your personal information to provide you with customer support, such as responding to any requests or enquiries from you, and to improve our Services.

Comments & site authors & administrators

At present, comments are not enabled on our Site.

In the event we enable them, the data shown in the comments form would be collected along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service (powered by Automattic Inc.) to see if you are using it.

Our Site also uses the Gravatar service to display profile pictures (avatars) for website authors and administrators. It allows these users to create a globally recognized avatar associated with their email address. When these users access parts of our Site where author information is displayed, their email address (in hashed format) is sent to the Gravatar service to retrieve their associated profile image. This process involves sharing personal data, specifically the email hash address, with Automatic Inc.

Articles on this site may eventually include embedded content such as videos, images, articles, maps etc. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Third-party providers

As stated above, we use third-party providers and platforms to process payments and to manage our mailing lists, and for the purposes of order fulfillment and shipping. These providers process your information according to their respective privacy policies.

MailChimp. We use MailChimp to manage our mailing lists and our Newsletter. Your name and email address are stored in MailChimp so that we can send you periodic mailings for marketing and promotional purposes as well as updates. In 2021, MailChimp was purchased by Intuit Inc, which has introduced a global privacy policy for all of the Intuit Group companies. Sendle. We use Sendle’s parcel delivery services to ship your orders and provide them only with the information necessary to this end, namely your name, shipping address, and phone number. Other

At present we do not use automated spam detection services on our website.

Data Retention & Security – How Long We Retain Your Data

Cahoots Subscribers, Customers, Site Visitors, Account Holders. We only retain your personal information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for as well as for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When we no longer have a legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will delete it and/or de-identify it.

Comments. Although we do not at present have comments enabled on the website, should we activate the feature, all comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so that we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

Information Request. You can place a request with us to know what personal information we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

Deletion Request. You may also request that we erase any personal information we hold about you. Please note, this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Children

Our Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children. As of the Effective Date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we “share” or “sell” (as those terms are defined in applicable law) personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
